SmarTrack Range Rover Recovery

30 Mar: Theft Case Study: Stolen Range Rover Sport

Case Study, Theft from Train Station – Range Rover Sport

Earlier this month (March ‘22), the Global Telemetrics control centre called our customer on an alert call after we were notified that their Range Rover Sport was moving without the driver detection card present. This is a fairly common occurrence and usually a routine call for our control centre, but not for this Range Rover.

Our customer confirmed that the car had been parked at a railway station since the morning and if it was moving it had definitely been stolen. Following procedure our SVR team advised the customer to contact the police and obtain a crime reference number.

Coachman Caravan

Theft Case Study: Stolen Coachman Wanderer – Caravan

When it comes to vehicle theft nothing is safe from becoming a target. As mentioned previously in some of our other blogs, as the weather improves there is an increased number of caravans and motorhomes on roads but even the storage centres where they are stored for winter can be a target.

In late January this was the case for one of our customers who had their Coachman Wanderer stolen from the storage site where it was located.

Feb Thefts

18 Mar: February 2022 Theft Highlights

FEBRUARY 2022 THEFT HIGHLIGHTS

2 months into the year and Global Telemetrics have now passed £5 million pounds worth of assets recovered this year. The amount of recovered vehicles for February continued January’s trend of recovering more than one vehicle per day.

As we always see when analysing theft data for the month the Range Rover continues to be the most stolen vehicle with 31% of the vehicles recovered this month being a variation of the Range Rover equating to over £1 millions worth of vehicles.

Autotrail

11 Mar: Theft Case Study: Fiat Ducato Autotrail Motorhome

As we rapidly approach the spring, Global Telemetrics sees somewhat of an awakening happening with our customers’ vehicles. Motorhomes and Caravans that had previously been tucked up in storage for the winter all start to appear once again on our roads as they head back to customers’ homes or off on their adventures.

Sadly, this also means we see a rise in theft numbers for this type of vehicle. This was the case in February where we had a theft and recovery of a Fiat Ducato Autotrail Motorhome in the London area.
